Lend your muscle! Nancy Jackson Memorial Day of Caring


Our annual Day of Caring is one great day of giving back!

On Thursday, September 7th you're invited to roll up your sleeves and make a difference by joining hundreds of volunteers throughout Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. Work hands-on to improve lives and create lasting, positive change in our community with United Way’s Nancy Jackson Memorial Day of Caring! This one-day volunteer endeavor has been an annual tradition of caring since 1994 and has grown to be the premiere volunteer effort in our community with the value of completed projects through the years surpassing the $2.5 million mark.

The volunteer projects include landscaping, painting, cleaning, maintenance, beautification, direct client interaction and scores of other critical tasks to benefit the local organizations making a difference in our community everyday.

Who we are

Mission Statement: To put Christian Principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.


At the Y, our focus is on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA serves all members of the community regardless of their ability to pay for membership or program services. Our YMCA collaborates with other agencies and YMCA's to help serve our community needs.

What we do

The YMCA offers membership and program opportunities for people of all ages. Members of our YMCA are also considered members at the Greater Carbondale YMCA and the Greater Scranton YMCA.

Healthy Living: Improving the nation's health and well-being

Social Responsibility: Giving back and providing support to our neighbors


Programs: Youth Sports, Summer Day Camps, After School Programs, Silver Sneakers, Yoga, Strength Training, Role Playing Games, Gymnastics, Pre School Sports & Gymnastics, Mommy & Me, In the Cardiac Direction and Zumba.

Painting & Prepping the Boxing Room

Small room needs walls scraped and prepped to paint. Then painted. Facility is air condiditoned. Morning Event 9:00am - 3pm
