Sponsored locally by The Voluntary Action Center, the APPRISE program hosts “New to Medicare” classes. The classes are held the 2nd Thursday (10am to 12pm) and 4th Thursday (1:30 to 3:30pm) each month at the offices of The Voluntary Action Center, 538 Spruce Street, 4th Floor, Scranton, PA 18503. Registration is required. Please contact The Voluntary Action Center to register at 570-347-5616. About APPRISE: Your local APPRISE program is sponsored by the Voluntary Action Center and is funded by the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging. The APPRISE program has trained counselors available to provide free assistance concerning, Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medigap Plans, PACE/PACE NET, Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help.

Proceeds benefit prorgams at Serving Seniors,Inc. Beer, Wine & Soda, at the ever famous Tiki Bar at Waldorf Park, delicious grilled picnic foods, assorted buffet and delectable desserts.Entertainment by EJ the DJ. Rain or shine (covered pavilion area) Come enjoy a friendly game of volleyball or horsehoes! or sit back and relax to the sounds of EJ the DJ. Cost is at $25.00 per person and tickets can be obtained at the door or by calling 570-344-3931. Public is welcome and encouraged to attend this fun filled event
